Flagstaff is a city located in Coconino in the northern part of Arizona state. According to the 2004 Census, Flagstaff's population was estimated at 61,270. Flagstaff is commonly nicknamed the " City of Seven Wonders".

One of the highest U.S. cities, Flagstaff is 7000 feet above sea level and lies near the western side of the ponderosa pine forest and the southwestern boarder of the Colorado Plateau. The San Francisco peaks mountain range, the highest in Arizona, is located just north of Flagstaff.

Flagstaff's high altitude and low humidity provide very distinctive weather from season to season. The warmest month is July with daily highs averaging a comfortable 82 degrees F. January is the coldest month with daily temperatures averaging 43 degrees F for a high and 16 degrees F for a low. Average annual snowfall is 108.8 inches and August is the wettest month with an average of 2.89 inches of precipitation.
