Glendale is a city in Maricopa County in the state of Arizona. According to the 2004 Census the estimated population of Glendale was 233,330. Glendale has become one of the fastest growing cities in the country based on population increase from the late 1990's. Luke Air Force Base, a large jet-fighting training center along with the American Graduate School of International Management, contribute to Glendale also being known as an educational hub. Glendale, Arizona's fourth largest city, was voted "Arizona's Antique Captial".

Glendale is approximately 1150 feet above sea level and is adjacent to the City of Phoenix. Glendale is a rich agricultural region irrigated by the Salt River Project. Glendale is surrounded by four sets of mountains: The Sierra Estrella Mountains, the Superstition Mountains, the McDowell Mountains and the White Tank Mountains. Glendale is also located in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona.

Glendale's dry climate holds some of the hottest seasonal temperatures anywhere. Glendale's warmest months are from June through the early part of September with daily averages highs in the 100 degree F range. July averages a daily temperature of 108 degrees F. The highest recorded temperature was 122 degrees F back in 1995. Glendale's average annual rainfall is 7.5 inches. March, on average, is the wettest month of the year.
